Dr. Iyabo Kudayah

r. Kudayah is a Consultant Paediatrician and Joint Medical Director at Lifeline Children’s Hospital, She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Ibadan (MBBS) in 1981, and undertook her housemanship training at Lagos University Teaching Hospital . Following this, she worked at the Eko Hospital, Lagos (1983-1986) during which she received “The Best Doctor of the Year Award” for two consecutive years.
Her Postgraduate Residency Training in Paediatrics was at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital culminating in the award of the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College in Paediatrics FMC Paed. During her Paediatric training, she was awarded “Best Junior Resident of the year 1987”.
Dr. Kudayah's area of special interest is Paediatric Cardiology and she has publications in this field. She is an Associate Lecturer at the Department of Paediatrics, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital where she lectures on General Paediatrics and Paediatric Cardiology. She is also part-time Paediatric Consultant to Exxon Mobil, Nigeria, and has also work frequently as locum Paediatrician at Chevron Hospital Lagos.
She is a Cofounder and Joint Executive Director of a training and development company - Healthcare Capacity Development Company Ltd.
She has attended several Paediatric Courses, Workshops and Conferences both in Nigeria and in the UK and acted as a facilitator for workshops on child Health projects organized by WHO and UNICEF. Areas covered include advanced Paediatric Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation, Paediatric and Neonatal Critical Care Transport, Child Protection, Cranial Ultrasonography, Echocardiography, Avian Influenza, Paediatric Nephrology, Neurodisability, Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive care, Asthma.
She is a member of several professional bodies and is a member of “Women In Business and Management In Nigeria”. She has attended various Management courses and has mentored several young female entrepreneurs.
She is on the Board of Directors of a Financial and Management Consulting Company as well as a Property Management Company.
Dr. Funlola Harold Sodipo
Dr. Harold Sodipo is a joint Medical Director and Consultant Paediatrician at Lifeline Children’s Hospital.
She graduated from College of Medicine, University of Ibadan in 1978 and undertook her Post Graduate training at Lagos University Teaching Hospital. Her Paediatric training continued in the UK where she worked in several District General Hospitals in Greater London culminating in the award of MRCPCH.UK..
She has in depth experience in the Management of Children with Diabetes thus informing her interest in Paediatric Diabetes.
She has attended several courses and conferences on child health and acute Paediatrics in the UK.
She is on the Board of Directors of several companies in Nigeria involved in Property and Manufacturing.
Dr Liza (Elizabeth) Urowayino Onifade(nee Okorodudu) - MBBS, DTM&H, FMCPaed, FRCPCH
Liza’s undergraduate medical education was at the prestigious College of Medicine, University of Lagos – student number 732! She bagged the National Award for her undergraduate training and qualified in 1978 with an MBBS.
She developed an interest in Paediatrics during her national youth corps year at the Nigerian Naval Hospital, Apapa, Lagos where she was part of the medical team looking after the newborns and older children of Naval personnel.
Her core postgraduate training in paediatrics was at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. In 1986 during the course of her training, she was awarded the John Holt Scholarship to proceed to the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, University of Liverpool for a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. She bagged a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) at the end of the course. She was awarded the fellowship of the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College (FMCPaed) in 1992 on completion of her core paediatric training.
Dr Onifade’s areas of special interest in paediatrics include renal medicine, paediatric medical education, infant feeding, and food allergy. She is an International Society of Nephrology (ISN) fellow. In 2000, she received the ISN fellowship award for paediatric renal training at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Trust in the United Kingdom. This was followed later in 2004 by an International Society of Peritoneal Dialysis scholarship for dialysis training at the world renowned Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, also in the United Kingdom. Her focus thereafter was to help junior colleagues consolidate their interest in paediatric nephrology.
She was a faculty member of the department of paediatrics of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos for several years. She began her academic career as Lecturer 1 in 1994 and retired as a senior lecturer in 2008. Through these years she was also honorary consultant paediatrician at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. Dr Onifade has been a trainer of younger colleagues, medical students and paediatric nurses. She is well versed in research and has several publications in peer reviewed journals. She attends national and international conferences in the field of paediatrics and invests in continuous professional development, specifically attending several management and professional courses in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. She has been involved in the organisation and execution of several paediatric update courses in Nigeria. She is certified in both Advanced Paediatric Life Support and Newborn Life Support.
She is currently on sabbatical/leave of absence in the United Kingdom where she works as Consultant paediatrician at the Friarage Hospital, South Tees NHS Foundation Trust. She has recently been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH). Her vacations are spent back home in Nigeria where she endeavours to contribute to the vision of her founding colleagues in Lifeline for Nigerian children.
Dr. Efunbo Dosekun
Dr. Dosekun is a joint Medical Director and Consultant Paediatrician with an interest in Neonatalology.
She graduated from College of Medicine, University of Lagos in 1980 and had her Postgraduate Paediatric Training at Lagos University Teaching Hospital from 1984 to 1989.
She was the recipient of the Nigeria Medical Association Price for “The Best Result in Final MBBS”, “The Janet Kilpatrick Gold Medal for the Best Result in Paediatrics and Best Senior Resident Department of Paediatrics”, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Year 1989.
She had a training stint in Freemans Hospital on Paediatric Echocardiography in 1988. Her Paediatric training and exposure continued in the UK where she worked in several District General Hospitals in inner city London. She achieved her MRCPCH. UK (1998) and Msc Community Paediatrics, from University College London(2000) during her stay in the UK. Her dissertation was on “Parent Programmes in West African Children with Communication Difficulties in the UK.
She has attended several modular courses in Health Services Management and Project Management. She has attended around 30 Workshops, Seminars and Conferences in Europe over the past 8 years. Areas covered were Epilepsy, Asthma, Quality improvement strategies in Health, Paediatric cardiology, several Paediatric Intensive Care Courses, Paediatric Nephrology, Neonatology , Paediatric Gastroenterology and several Neurodisability Courses.
Her areas of interest are Neonatology, Paediatric Neurology and Neurodisability and Health Service Management.
She is a Non Executive Member of the Board of Directors of an Architectural Practice in Lagos and a Property Development Company in Abuja
She is a Co Founder and Joint Executive Director of a training and Development Company - Healthcare Capacity Development Co. Ltd.
She is a Senior Fellow of the Nigerian Leadership Initiative which is linked with the Aspen Fellowship Program, USA.
